A real breakthrough in the history of Szczawnica was the construction of a chairlift to the Palenica hill (722 m. above sea level). The Palenica chairlift turned out to be a real hit. Therefore, it was modernised and extended. In winter 2005, a fully modern, four-seater chairlift was put into operation, which is a part of the whole ski, tourist and recreational complex. The system of pulling out makes the chairlift comfortable to get on and off. From spring to autumn, a very popular trolley slide is open at the upper station of the railway - a great attraction for both adults and children. Palenica Cable Railway in Szczawnica is a complex of: 4-person Doppelmayr cable railway, 3 ski lifts on the Szafranówka Glade, summer gravity slide, diversified ski routes located in the beautiful Pieniny landscape.
